I talk to lots of people who are thinking about having a photoshoot, but not sure how it all works. I think the easiest way to explain a photoshoot is to break it down into the 4 fun stages of a boudoir photoshoot:-
The Pre–Consultation, The Makeover and your Shoot, The Reveal Session and The Production.
The first stage of your boudoir photoshoot. A fancy phrase that really means that we get together for a chat either at my studio or over the phone. Clients love coming to the studio before their photoshoot. This is where the four stages of a boudoir photo shoot begins. They have a look around the studio, meet me and tell me about their ideas and how they would like to be photographed. I love helping people prepare for their shoots. I can suggest what to wear, what sort of props to bring to personalise a shoot and how best to present your images. I have lots of choices for you; from albums, luxury Italian leather folio boxes, to beautiful bespoke wall art.
If you decide that I am the photographer for you, we can check out our availability and get a date in the diary for you. Friday and Saturdays are very popular and do get booked up months in advance.
The big day! The studio is yours for the whole time of your shoot; generally, it will just be the three of us (me - your photographer and, of course, your makeup artist, Miriam ), so you don’t have to worry about lots of strangers wandering around.
If we haven’t already decided what sort of makeup look you would like we’ll decide over a cup of coffee and talk about any new ideas you may have. We’ll also look through the goodies that you have brought with you so we can plan the order of your photoshoot - I generally get serious shoe and lingerie envy at this point!
Your pampering transformation happens in the comfortable luxury of my favourite room in the studio. We love MAC, Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown and use a lot of their gorgeous products, this is a luxury experience and we only use great makeup.
Once you are feeling and looking fabulous, we will go into the studio and this is where the fun happens. I know many ladies are worried that they don’t know how to pose for the camera. Please don’t worry, posing is my superpower and I’ll gently guide and coach you through the whole experience to create beautiful images of you. Your fears and worries will quickly disappear when I show you a few of your first images on the back of the camera. Your confidence will grow throughout your shoot.
Afterwards, we’ll arrange a convenient date for you to come back in and view your images, usually one week after your shoot. This will give me time to select the best of the best images and give them my signature retouching, so they are perfect for you to view. All the images that you will see will be gently retouched and I will always check if you want any scars or tattoos removed during this process.
This is when you get to come back and see your images in a slideshow on a big screen and decide which images you love. You’ll get to see an incredible boudoir slide show. Then we will go through the photos one by one, so you can appreciate how great you look. You can then select the ones that you would like to own and if you would like an album, folio box or piece of wall art.
There is no minimum spend and definitely no hard sell. Clients buy what they fall in love with, generally spending between £1200 - £3600.
Over the years, I have found the best photographic labs and framing companies in the country to ensure that your images will be perfect. My beautiful leather folio boxes are handmade in Italy and my gorgeous albums come from Scotland.
Your bespoke items do take some time to create and your final order will typically be ready within two to three weeks, but I’ll let you know when to expect your images to be ready.
